Furness Clog Dancers are known throughout Cumbria for their intricate steps, attractively choreographed dances and lively north west clog morris.
A varied repertoire includes traditional dances from Furness, the old county of Westmorland, Lancashire, Yorkshire and the North East, as well as dances created in the traditional style by members.
The dance side would be nothing without the musicians, who play a variety of traditional instruments. Tunes from all over England and Scotland include a few peculiar to the local tradition.
This versatile dance group gives displays in the street and in halls, mostly in the Furness and South Lakes areas, and is available for bookings.
New members are always welcome. The side meets on Tuesdays at 8pm at St Mary's Parish Centre, Victoria Road, Ulverston, throughout the winter, spring and early summer.
